November 21, 2020 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE – The Husky Classic, which was set to be held Nov. 25, 27 and 28 at Alaska Airlines Arena, has been cancelled due to COVID-19 issues amongst visiting teams.
The four-team tournament included Washington, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego and Portland State but due to COVID-19-related shutdowns for Fullerton and San Diego along with the uncertainty of Portland State's availability due to its status with the Oregon Health Authority, the event has been cancelled.
"We're obviously disappointed for our student-athletes who have been getting ready for the start of the season but we understand the necessity of the protocols put in place to protect their safety during this time," said Mike Hopkins. "We're going to keep looking to get games on the schedule, but the health and safety of our student-athletes is the most important thing right now."
As of now, Washington's next game would be Dec. 3 at Utah.
