Washington Adds Two For 2020-21
January 27, 2020 | Men's Tennis
SEATTLE --- The University of Washington men's tennis team announced a pair of recruits for the 2020-21 season as Head Coach Matt Anger announced the signings of Han Chih Lin and Nikit Reddy.
Han Chih Lin, who goes by Hans, is ranked as the top junior player in Taiwan. His best world ITF ranking in the juniors is #88 and he has reached the quarterfinals or better six times in J2 ITF tournaments around the world. Lin was just named to Taiwan's Davis Cup team for its next tie against Ukraine in March.
"Hans is very solid and has weapons that I think will allow him to be a factor right away when he gets into our program," said Anger. "He has a lot of good experience, but that will only get better with his upcoming Davis Cup experience. I'm thrilled that Hans will be a Husky!"
Reddy is an American citizen who was born in Boston, but moved to Bangalore, India in 2011, and has three years of collegiate eligibility remaining. In India, he has been ranked #26 in the nation in the men's rankings and has been in the top 5 in India in the juniors. Reddy has reached the quarterfinal eight different times on the ITF junior circuit and has qualified for the main draw two times at the men's futures level.
"Nikit has a fair amount of international experience and this will help our young team," said Anger. "He hits the ball at a very high level and with our structured program, he is capable of making a big jump quickly."
