EUGENE, Ore. – University of Washington Jan Schneider sits in a tie for eighth following the third round of the 2019 Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday while the Huskies as a team are in ninth at 24-over 1089 (362-364-363). UW will finish the annual conference championship on Wednesday with 18 holes starting at 8 a.m. and will be paired with Utah and Arizona.
"Well, we finished our back nine badly today which wasn't great but there was some great golf including an unbelievable bounce back round for Shamu," said head coach Alan Murray. "He kept his chin up after yesterday and really battled hard today and for him to finish at 1-under on this course says a lot about his character and talent. Jan, Noah and Henry were once again rock solid and we're relying on them. Jan has to be one of the most improved players in college golf this year if you look at where he started to where he's finishing, it's just impressive."
Schneider once again showcased his solid play finishing with at 2-under 211 (69-70-72) for the eighth place tie heading into the final 18 holes. The sophomore's round started where it left off as he birdied three of the first five holes of the day. Despite errors on the next two, he added another birdie to close his first nine at 1-under. Carding a par on all but two of his final holes, Schneider is just two strokes away from top five and nine from the leader, Cal's Collin Morikawa (-11, 202).
Following him was sophomore Noah Woolsey who is currently in a tie for 20th at 1-over 214 (70-72-72). Woolsey matched his second round score of 1-over 72 on Tuesday and had just three blemishes on his scorecard to go alongside two birdies as he made par on the other 13 holes. Junior Henry Lee improved upon his second-round score by four strokes as he finished at 2-over 73 to move his score to 7-over 220, which is tied for 41st.
Freshman Ranveer Grewal is tied for 59th at 13-over 226 (77-72-77) while Padraic Sim is tied for 61st with a 14-over 227 (78-73-76). Making the biggest improvement during the third round was junior Shamu Bodhidatta as he carded a 1-under 70 to move his score to 17-over 230 (76-84-70). He shot 14 strokes better than his second round scorecard and climbed five spots into 66th place.
