No. 7 Huskies Open Pac-12 Play On The Road

The seventh ranked Washington women's tennis team begins Pac-12 conference play on Friday as the Huskies face the 6-6 Colorado Buffaloes at 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, the Dawgs will matchup against Utah at 10 a.m.
UW was recently ranked as the No. 7 team in the nation according to the ITA. This is the highest ranking in program history since the 2004 campaign.

- Stacey Fung jumped back into the ITA singles rankings at No. 69. Fung is 7-3 in singles dual matches and holds a victory over then #1 player Sophie Whittle from Gonzaga
- Fung's 86 career singles victories place her currently at sixth all time in program history
- Sophomore Vanessa Wong remains a perfect 10-0 in singles dual matches, and earned the 112th singles ranking on Tuesday
- Fung and freshman Nika Zupancic currently hold the 43rd spot in the ITA Doubles Rankings
- Junior Katarina Kopcalic leads the team in overall wins with 21, and is off to an 8-2 record in dual matches
- The Huskies have been nearly perfect in doubles play, holding a 22-3 (.880) record in dual matches
- Singles play has not been far behind as UW holds a .750 (45-15) winning percentage in dual matches
- Freshman have impacted the team significantly through the non-conference season as Sedona Gallagher is 6-2 in singles, 8-1 in doubles while Zupancic is 4-1 in singles and 6-1 in doubles play
- The victory against #7 Kansas was the second of the season against a top-15 opponent
- The Huskies hold a 14-3 all-time series record against Colorado and 12-8 advantage over Utah
- UW beat Colorado and Utah both by a score of 4-0 at home last season
