SEATTLE –
Morganne Flores hit two home runs and
Taran Alvelo struck out 15 for the #7 Washington Huskies in their 7-1 win over Cal Poly on Wednesday. Flores had her second multi-homer game in her last three, while
Madison Huskey also added her second career home run on a ball off the top of the centerfield wall in the third.
Alvelo was rolling all game, with Cal Poly's only run coming on a solo home run in the second inning. After that homer, the senior retired nine straight all by strikeout. She struck out the side in four innings en route to her third game with 15 or more strikeouts this season.
Seven Huskies had hits in the game. Flores,
Taryn Atlee, and
Nawai Kaupe all had multi-hit games. All of the 5-6-7-8 hitters for UW scored runs in the game.
