
Ducks Down Dawgs In Series Finale

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon completed the sweep of the No. 20 softball team (34-12, 15-3 Big Ten) on Sunday, as Washington fell 1-3 to the 18th-ranked Ducks at Jane Sanders Stadium.
Through the first three innings, the Dawgs notched three hits and left five runners on base.
Oregon scored first with a solo home run in the bottom of the third. All three Duck scores came on solo home runs, with Oregon going yard in the third, fifth and sixth innings.
Giselle Alvarez and Melody Acevedo were bright spots for Washington in the weekend finale. Alvarez went 2-for-2 with a single, a double and a walk, finishing the series 4-for-9.
Acevedo went yard in the top of the seventh inning, her third home run of the year, and the only run of the day for UW.
The Huskies return home for the final home stretch at Husky Softball Stadium, a three-game series with UCLA beginning Friday, April 24.
