PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The University of Washington women's golf team made movement on Monday as it climbed three spots on the leaderboard into 12th place following an 8-stroke improvement in round two at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. In rainy conditions at the course, UW is at 36-over 604 (308-296). Tuesday's final round starts at 8:30 at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
"I thought we improved upon some things today and certainly made more birdies but we need to trust ourselves a bit more and stay committed to our game plan," said head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "Julianne once again had a solid round and played well. Overall we made improvements in tough conditions and will look to keep doing so tomorrow."
Senior Julianne Alvarez led the Dawgs for the second-straight day as she posted a 1-over 72 en route to a tie for 17th with a two-day total of 5-over 147 (75-72).
