The Huskies are 5-4-3 in those appearances and have reached at least the third round in three of those trips. Overall, Washington is 13-23-3 in the NCAA tournament, 11-7-2 at home and 1-2-1 all-time in the third round. The Huskies won their only third-round match in Seattle, beating conference rival Stanford 1-0 in 2013.
The Marshall University Herd At A Glance
The Herd are having their best season in program history, winning the program's first conference title, setting a record for wins (16) and making their first trip to the NCAA tournament. Marshall has won as many matches this year as it has over the last two years combined under third-year head coach Chris Grassie. The Herd have won six-straight matches and are no stranger to close games with their last nine decided by one of fewer goals.
Redshirt freshman Milo Yosef leads the team with 12 goals, though he has just two in his last eight matches. One of those was the match-winner against West Virginia last week. Just behind him is Jamil Roberts, a junior with seven goals and 10 assists on the year.
Series History vs. Marshall and Conference USA
This will just be the second time Washington faces Marshall with the Huskies winning 2-0 in Seattle in the only other meeting. That match came back in the 2006 Husky Classic Championship match with current UW assistant Raphael Cox netting the match winner just 16 minutes in. The Huskies also hold a 6-4-1 edge against teams in Conference USA, though the last time UW played a CUSA team was in 2012 (2-0 loss at Alabama-Birmingham).
Bodily On A Hot Streak
Blake Bodily continued his hot play as of late, scoring a goal and assisting the other in the Huskies' 2-0 win over Boston College last week. Bodily now has seven goals over his last seven matches and has scored 11 on the season. That is the most goals by a Husky in 13 years, since Ely Allen tallied 12 in 2007.
Bodily was been solid all season, recording a point in 13 of the 17 matches he has played, amassing 11 goals and six assists. He leads the team in both caterogires Bodily has earned Pac-12 First Team recognition each of his three seasons at UW, being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2017 and Pac-12 Player of the Year this year.
Clark, Bodily and Bartlow Earn Pac-12 Awards
The Huskies won three of four individual Pac-12 awards announced on Nov. 20. Head Coach Jamie Clark was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year after winning the most conference matches in program history. It was the second time he has won the award after taking home the honor in 2013. Bodily was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year after scoring 10 goals including seven in conference play. Bartlow earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year honors after anchoring the Huskies' backline which posted a .606 goals against average. He also added a career-best three goals. Bartlow was the team's first winner of the defensive award with Bodily becoming Washington's fourth Player of the Year recipient, but first since Ely Allen shared the honor in 2007. He is the second Husky to win the award by himself (Kevin Forest, 2006).
All-Pac-12 Honors
Washington was well represented on the Pac-12 teams, placing six on the all-conference teams and taking three of the four individual honors. Blake Bodily and Ethan Bartlow were named to the All-Pac-12 First Team with John Magnus earning a second-team nod. Dylan Tevas, Christian Soto and Sam Fowler also earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. It's a pretty remarkable feat considering the Huskies were unranked to start the season. The Huskies finished ranked No. 4 in the Soccer America Poll, No. 5 in Top Drawer Soccer's poll and No. 6 in the College Soccer News rating.
Meek's Offensive Explosion
Redshirt sophomore Lucas Meek has been a big key to the offense this year, scoring six goals on the season despite playing in just 704 minutes over 17 matches, including an impressive five-match goal streak earlier in the year. In addition, five of those goals have been match-winners, which ranks third in the NCAA lead in that category. Lately, Meek has been adding to his assist total, recording six over his last eight matches to give him 18 points on the season–the third-most in the Pac-12.
Meek redshirted his first year, played three minutes at the end of one match last year as a freshman, and was down on the depth chart to start the year this season. Meek's first action in 2019 came in mop-up time in a 4-0 win over San Francisco. He came on in the 41st minute at No. 16 Michigan State, then scored two minutes later and didn't play again in the second half. He did not play at Michigan, but then came in late in the match at CSUN and scored UW's only goal in the 80th minute. Meek scored at Seattle, at home vs San Diego State and just 47 seconds into the match against UCLA.

Fowler in Goal
Freshman goalie Sam Fowler suffered his first collegiate loss against California, but not before posting an impressive 8-0-0 record to start his UW career. Despite the setback, Fowler still holds a 0.458 goals against average this season, which is the secvend-best mark in the NCAA. Fowler earned his first college start in UW's 4-0 victory over San Francisco, becoming just the second freshman to start in goal for the Huskies since 2002. The only other during that stretch was Spencer Richey (2010)–the starting goalkeeper for FC Cincinnati (MLS).
Bodily Rakes In The Pre-Season Honors
Bodily was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list to start the year (awarded to the top college soccer player), becoming the first Husky since Cristian Roldan to earn that honor. In addition, Bodily was a preseason All-Pac-12 selection and earned preseason All-America honors from Top Drawer Soccer (3rd Team) and College Soccer News (2nd Team).
Soto Earns Freshman Honors
Midfielder Christian Soto was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Best Freshman XI Team prior to the season and recently was named #5 on TDS' list of the Top 100 Freshman in DI men's soccer. Soto comes to UW after playing for Crossfire FC with Husky teammates Charlie Ostrem and Ethan Bartlow and earned a USBNT call-up with the U17 National Team Camp in 2016. He has appeared in all 18 matches, making 13 starts and has four assists on the year.

Senior John Magnus, redshirt junior Kasey French and redshirt sophomore Lucas Meek earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 honors as the Huskies placed three players on the 12-man team which recognizes student-athletes for their work on and off the field.
For French, it was his third-straight year earning the prestigious honor after posting a 3.88 cumulative GPA while pursuing an incredible double-major in mathematics and physics at Washington. Magnus is close to wrapping up his UW career with an equally impressive 3.73 GPA while working toward a computer science degree with a minor in Mathematics. Meek also earned the honor for the first time, recording a 3.59 GPA through his first two years in pursuit of a business degree at Washington.
