Davis Moves Into Round of 16 at ITA NW Regionals

PALO ALTO, Calif. --- Jack Davis picked up a singles win to advance to the Round of 16 at the 2019 ITA Northwest Regional Championships hosted by Stanford on Saturday.

Davis, a junior from Vancouver, BC, cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gonzaga's Oliver Andersson in the third round of the tournament to advance to the Round of 16 on Sunday. He will be up against the tournament's top seed Yuta Kikuchi from Cal at 10:45 Sunday morning.

Davis and teammate Ewen Lumsden put together a quick 8-2 win over Brandon Lam and Luke Vandecasteele of Oregon in the second round of the main doubles draw. However, they would lose a tough tiebreaker in the next round, falling 8-7 (7-4) to Cal's Ben Draper and Bjorn Hoffmann in their third round match.

In consolation singles matches, Jack Pulliam beat Santa Clara's Matthew Rodriguez 6-0, 7-6 (1), Thibault Cancel defeated Sahal Bukary from Portland State 6-1, 6-3, and Adam Torocsik downed Vasileios Iliopoulos from Santa Clara, 7-5, 7-6(4).
