Washington Finishes Fourth Overall at Cardinal Cup

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Washington put together their best round of the Cardinal Cup on Sunday en route to finishing fourth overall with an 18-over 882 (295-295-292). The Dawgs posted 13 birdies for the second-straight round and had three student-athletes finish in the top 25.
Sophomore Martha Lewis and senior Karen Miyamoto each tied for 12th with scores of 2-over 218. Lewis finished the three-day tournament with the best round by a Husky as she turned in a 2-under 70. The sophomore improved upon her score in each round going 75-73-70. Her final 18 featured five birdies including four over her first seven holes. Her tie for 12th is her best finish as a Husky.
Miyamoto had consistently been in the upper half of the leaderboard during the Cardinal Cup and her 2-over 218 (73-72-73). It was her third top 15 showing of the fall campaign. Senior Alice Duan joined her teammates in the top 25 as she tied for 23rd with a 7-over 223 (72-76-75).
Just one stroke behind Duan was freshman Winnie Ng who tied for 26th with an 8-over 224 (76-74-74) after posting back-to-back rounds of 2-over 74. Rounding out the UW squad was fellow freshman Brittany Kwon as she turned in a 14-over 230 (75-78-77) to tie for 51st.
Washington concludes the fall season at the Pac-12 Preview, Nov. 4-6, at Nanea Golf Club in Hawaii.
