Wainhouse Earns West-ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Honors

The 2018 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-Region teams have been announced in all eight regions and Washington senior Joe WainhouseΒ was named to the West's first team.
WainhouseΒ (Kent, Wash.), whoΒ was previously named to the All-Pac-12 team and to the Pac-12 All-Academic second team, is hitting .312/.360/.620 in 56 games with 19 home runs and 59 runs batted in. His home run total is tied for third most in UW single-season history, while his RBI total is tied for eighth most.
The left-handed hitting designated hitter has been a key catalyst for Washington's late-season run. WainhouseΒ ranked first in Pac-12 action with 37 RBIs and was second with 12 home runs. For the month of May, he hit .356 (21 for 56) with eight home runs and 22 runs batted in.
WainhouseΒ has homered in 10-straight weekend series' and has 13 blasts over the last 18 games, including five in six post-season contests. He was named the NCAA Conway Regional MVP after homering in all three games.
