Chicago Road Trip Up Next For Washington

SEATTLE – After two weekends at home, No. 22 Washington women's tennis hits the road to Chicago for matches against Northwestern on Saturday and against No. 24 Illinois on Sunday.
The Huskies (7-2) are riding a five-game win streak heading into this road trip. In the latest ITA top-25 rankings, the Dawgs moved up two spots to No. 22. Junior Stacey Fung is ranked No. 11 and is a perfect 7-0 in singles at the No. 1 spot in the lineup.
Northwestern is 3-3 so far in 2018. The team has three-straight losses, including two against ranked opponents. The Wildcats have a ranked win against No. 21 Kentucky back in January. They have two individuals ranked by the ITA, No. 70 Maddie Lipp and No. 83 Lee Or. Northwestern thrives in doubles, earning the No. 1, No. 12 and No. 21 rankings by the ITA.
The Fighting Illini are tied for No. 24 in the rankings after not being ranked. In early February, they knocked off No. 11 Texas in a 4-2 win at home. Illinois has one player ranked in singles, No. 92 Mia Rabinowitz.
In the all-time series between Washington and Northwestern, the Wildcats hold the 5-2 edge. The Huskies are a perfect 8-0 in the series history against the Fighting Illini.
