GymDawgs Hit The Road To Take On Top Five Opponent In Utah

SEATTLE – The #15 Washington GymDawgs look to improve their score for the fifth straight week as they head to Salt Lake City to take on the #3 Utah Utes this Saturday, February 3. Washington and Utah will face off at 12:30 pm on the Pac-12 Network.
The GymDawgs set a new season-high team score last week at the Metroplex Challenge. Washington had a 196.525 score while also setting season highs on bars with a score of 49.200 and on beam with a score of 49.175. Hailey Burleson worked her way onto the podium with a third-place finish on beam with a score of 9.900.
Washington had five new individual career bests set at the Metroplex Challenge as well. Evanni Roberson set new career marks on bars (9.850), beam (9.875), and floor (9.825). Monica Riley had a score of 9.875 on bars for a new career high. Haley Roy also set a new career high on floor with a score of 9.825.
This will be the second time this year that Washington and Utah have competed. The Utes were also a part of the Elevate the Stage competition in Reno, Nevada earlier this year. Since then, Utah has defeated Oregon State 197.450-196.300 and Arizona 197.550-196.325. Utah has had a score over 197.000 as a team in three of its four meets so far this year.
Washington will return home after this competition. The GymDawgs will host the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday, February 10 at 1:30 pm on the Pac-12 Network. Tickets for all home meets are available online.
