Dawgs to Begin Final Fall Tournament at ASU Thunderbird Invitational

TMEPE, Ariz. --- The Washington women's tennis team will begin their final tournament of the fall season when play begins at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on Friday.
The 24th annual tournament, played at Whiteman Tennis Center will play host to Arizona State, California, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Mississippi State, Pepperdine, San Diego, Texas Tech, TCU and Washington. In the strong field, over half of the teams earned an NCAA Tournament appearance last season.
In the tournament format players will compete in one round of singles play and one doubles match against different teams in each of the three days of the competition.
The Huskies most recently competed at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships where the doubles team of senior Stacey Fung and freshman Nika Zupancic reached the semifinal match. At the Regional Championships in singles play Fung and sophomore Vanessa Wong both reached the Round of 16.
