Kasey French Repeats as Academic All-District VIII Selection

SEATTLE --- For the second-straight season, Washington sophomore defender Kasey French was among 11 student-athletes to earn Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 First Team honors as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.
French, who is a senior academically, is a physics major and has posted a 3.89 cumulative GPA through his first three years at UW.
French is also a key part of the Washington defense which has allowed just 20 goals this season. The sophomore has appeared in 13 matches this season before suffering an injury in late October which has kept him out of the last three matches. He has tallied three assists on the season.
The award is presented by and voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot where first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced in December. French earned All-District VIII honors last season as well.
The Huskies close out the regular season on Friday, hosting Oregon State at 8:00 p.m.
