Four Huskies Earn Pac-12 All-Academic

SAN FRANCISCO -- Four student-athletes from the University of Washington men's golf team have been named to the 2017 Pac-12 Conference All-Academic teams, announced today by Commissioner Larry Scott. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's events.
Sophomore Carl Yuan was named to the first team while senior Kevin Kwon earned second team. Junior Frank Garber and senior Corey Pereira were both named honorable mention.
Yuan, who was an All-Pac-12 second team selection, led the Huskies with a 71.57 scoring average this season while also leading the team with a 3.57 GPA. Kwon appeared in eight events in his senior season and was the second on the team with a 3.43 GPA.
Pereira, an All-Pac-12 second team honoree, was second on the team with a 71.69 scoring average. The Cameron Park, Calif. native led the team with three top-5, six top-10 and eight top-20 finishes in his final season. Garber concluded his junior season with five top-20 finishes and was third on the team with a 72.56 scoring average.
