This will be the first ever team tournament hosted by the conference, having held individual singles and doubles tournaments in years past. The Huskies earned the seventh seed in the 11-team bracket, after finishing with a 16-8 regular season record, having gone 5-5 in Pac-12 play.
This past weekend the Dawgs closed out their schedule with a win over rival Washington State 4-0 in Pullman, Wash. Junior Miki Kobayashi picked up her 19th singles win of the season with a 6-3, 6-3 win at court two, with Kenadi Hance and Katarina Kopcalic adding to their singles win-totals as well. In this week's ITA Rankings, the Huskies climbed to No. 30 while sophomore Stacey Fung earned a career-best singles ranking for the fourth consecutive week, coming in at 29th. The Vancouver, B.C. native has matched her win total in singles from last season at 22, and picked up four ranked wins during a three week period against conference opponents this month.
The Buffaloes closed out their season last weekend with a match against Utah in Salt Lake City, falling 1-4 to bring their record to 9-12 and 1-9 in the Pac-12. Senior Nuria Ormeno Ruiz ledas the team with 19 singles wins this season, going 10-10 during dual matches, all on court one. Washington traveled to Boulder, Colo. earlier this season to face the Buffaloes, coming out on top of a 5-2 match on March 26th.
