SEATTLE – To round out their 2017 class, the Washington men's tennis team announced the signing of Karlo Boljat today, who will join the program from Split, Croatia.
"I'm very excited that Karlo has signed with Washington," said head coach Matt Anger. "I think he's got a bright future and will be able to help us right away."
The 18 year old owns a career-best International Tennis Federation ranking of 114th and has reached the quarterfinals or better in ITF events in 13 different countries. He currently owns a Universal Tennis Rating of 13.62, which ranks third among next season's returning Huskies.
"He has a lot of singles and doubles experience internationally," said Anger. "To do well in college and professionally, you need to do well in all different conditions and he has that type of experience."
Boljat will be joining the Huskies during the 2017-18 academic year, as well as early signees Jack Davis and Alexis Alvarez Varas, who both signed during November.
