
Men's Golf Finishes In Fifth At The Goodwin

STANFORD, Calif. -- The University of Washington men's golf team shot a 6-over 286 on the final day of The Goodwin to finish in fifth at the par-70 Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif. The Huskies carded a three-day total of 860 (+20, 283, 291, 286) to earn their third straight top-5 finish.
No. 12 Stanford won the team title at 3-under 837, firing a final-round 7-under. No. 1 USC finished second at 6-over, while No. 5 Oregon was fourth.
Individually, BYU's Rhett Rasmussen held on to the lead to earn medalist honors carding a 4-under 206 after a final-round even-par 70.
Senior Corey Pereira and junior Frank Garber both recorded top-15 finishes. Pereira shot a 3-over 73 in his final round to finish in a tie for eighth-place (66-72-73) while Garber finished the three-day tournament tied for 13th (69-71-74).
Freshman Henry Lee fired a 1-under 69 on day three to climb 21 spots on the leaderboard and finish tied for 41st overall (76-74-69).
Sophomore Carl Yuan finished the tournament tied for 46th after shooting a 2-over 72, tallying a three-day score of 220 (74-74-72). Senior Kevin Kwon also shot a 2-over 72 on day three to finish with a score of 224 (74-78-72). Kwon jumped 14 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied for 69th.
Next up, Washington travels to Santa Cruz, Calif. to participate in the Western Intercollegiate (April 8-9).
