
GymDawgs Score 196.450, Fall to OSU

CORVALLIS, Ore. β The GymDawgs scored a 196.450 for the second straight week this Sunday against the Oregon State Beavers at Gill Coliseum. Washington had a total five top-3 performances on the afternoon.
Freshmen Madison Copiak and Haley Roy both scored career-high 9.9s to lead the team against OSU. Copiak's 9.9 on bars was a new personal best. Roy's 9.9 on vault tied her for first place on the event and was her first event title of the season.
"It was a great night for our freshman," said head coach Elise Ray.Β "Freshman year is full of transition and newness, so to see them succeed because of their determination and buy-in to our program, is so fulfilling. They deserve every bit of their success. And there will be more to come."
The GymDawgs scored above a 49.0 on each event for the third time this season.
Oregon State finished ahead of the Huskies with a season-high 197.325.

Bars, 49.100 β Four GymDawgs scored over a 9.8 to lead the Huskies to a 49.100 on bars. Copiak posted a personal best 9.9 to take second place in the event. Kaitlyn Duranczyk and Joslyn Goings each scored 9.825s and freshman Maya Washington put up a 9.8.

Vault, 49.050 β Roy continues to improve her scores on vault and scored a personal best 9.9 to lead the GymDawgs and tie for first place on the event. Alexandra Yacalis set a season-high with a 9.85 and Goings scored a solid 9.8 to round out the Huskies 9.8+ on vault.

Floor, 49.075 β Burleson and Yacalis each scored 9.85s to tie for third place on floor. Schaefer's consistency on floor has been huge for the GymDawgs and her 9.825 marks her sixth straight 9.8 or higher on floor this season.

Beam, - Beam continues to be the GymDawgs highest scoring event. Burleson scored a 9.925 for the second time on beam and was good enough for third place. Goings stuck landing 9.9 is her fifth 9.9+ of the year. Freshman Michaela Nelson set a career-high with a 9.85.

All-Around β Both Burleson and Goings competed in the all-around Sunday afternoon. Goings' 39.275 is her highest AA of the year.
