
Huskies Drop Second Game At Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. – The No. 5 ranked University of Washington softball team dropped its second game against No. 4 ranked Arizona, 12-0 (5), Saturday afternoon at Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium. With the loss, the Huskies move to 26-5 overall and 3-2 in Pac-12 Play.
Seniors Casey Stangel and Ali Aguilar collected Washington's two hits on the day with one single apiece during the first three innings.
Washington faced an early eight-run deficit after Arizona's offense exploded in the bottom of the first inning on eight singles, a double and a walk.
The Wildcats extended their lead with three more in the third inning after a single RBI, a sacrifice fly and walk with bases loaded.
The final run of the game came in the fourth inning on a home run from Alyssa Palomino.
Washington will close out the series at Arizona with a 12 p.m. game on Sunday, March 26. The game will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
