November 29, 2017 | Women's Soccer
ORLANDO, Fla. - The Washington Huskies have two representatives at the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team training camp this week, with U.S. Soccer announcing that both Kimberly Keever and Shannon Simon will be taking part in the seven-day camp. Simon and Keever are two of just 22 college players invited to the camp.
"They have definitely earned it over their careers," said Head Coach Lesle Gallimore. "They both have aspirations to keep playing after college so hopefully with this camp they can come in and play well and impress some people before the [National Women's Soccer League] draft."
Simon and Keever each finished their collegiate careers with their names etched in the Husky record books. Simon scored four goals and added three assists this season to give her 18 goals, 13 assists, and 49 career points. Those 13 assists are seventh most in Husky history, while her 49 points are 11th all-time.
Keever had her third six-goal season this year, matching her career-high of 14 points while adding two assists. Keever finished her Husky playing career with 22 goals, the fifth-most in school history. She was named All-Pac-12 as well, giving her a conference honor every year of her career as well as an All-Region award in 2015.
