
Huskies Set to Host 2017 Edean Ihlandfeldt Invitational at Sahalee

SAMMAMISH, Wash. – The No. 35 University of Washington women's golf team returns to the links this week as it hosts the annual Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational at Sahalee Country Club, in Sammamish, Wash.
The tournament includes 36 holes on Tuesday, Oct. 10, followed by an 18-hole final round on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The team will play the par-72 course at Sahalee, site of the 1998 PGA Championship and the 2016 KPMG LPGA Championship.
The Dawgs, who won the event in 2014, welcome a great field this year in Colorado State, Seattle U, Georgetown, No. 12 Colorado, San Francisco, Rutgers, BYU, UC-Davis, Idaho and Portland State.
The Huskies will have all seven players on the course this week. Their starting lineup will be Karen Miyamoto, Sarah Rhee, Rino Sasaki, Wenyung Keh and Julianne Alvarez , while Ellen Takada, EunWon park, Wenyan Ma and Christina Wang will be competing as individuals.
The Dawgs, who haven't hosted the event since 2015, are competing in just their second tournament of the fall season and their first with juniors Julianne Alvarez and Wenyung Keh. They most recently finished eighth at the Schooner Fall Classic in Oklahoma and were led by freshman Rino Sasaki, who notched her first top 15 finish as she tied for 13th with a 2-under 211.
About the Edean Ihlanfeld Invitational
The Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational is named for Washington's legendary coach that started the program. Mulflur played for Ihlanfeldt during her time as a Husky. Last season was the first time the Huskies haven't hosted the event. In 2015, San Diego State took the team title while Wenyung Keh was UW's top finisher, placing tied for fifth, her first top-five finish of her career as a Dawg.
