SEATTLE - With five points in her last five games, Pascale Dumesnil has put some more spark in Washington's offense as Pac-12 play kicks into gear. Dumesnil has already matched her career-high in points this year and had her first multi-assist game, picking up two helpers against Seattle. The San Diego native is fourth on the team in points so far and has started every game in conference play.
What does it feel like to play at Husky Soccer Stadium?
Dumesnil: It is amazing, I love seeing the bleachers packed with fans repping the purple and gold and supporting us.
What is something the coaching staff has taught you off the field?
Dumesnil: To always give back to the community and never forget the reasons you fell in love with soccer.
What is it like to play in the PAC-12 Conference?
Dumesnil: It's incredible because the PAC-12 is the top conference in the country and it's a great feeling to be playing among and against the top players.
What is your favorite thing about living in Seattle?
Dumesnil: The fact that you're in the middle of a big city surrounded by so much nature. Also it's awesome how much Seattle supports and loves their sports teams!
What are your favorite things to do in the summer in Seattle?
Dumesnil: I love to take hikes, hang out at the lake and enjoy spending time with friends.
What are some of your earliest memories of playing soccer?
Dumesnil: I remember being in Kindergarten and practicing outside with my dad. I remember wanting to be able to nutmeg him because he'd always nutmeg me.
Who is your biggest inspiration in why you play soccer?
Dumesnil: My parents—they have always supported my soccer goals and I've always wanted to make them proud.
What do you love most about playing soccer?
Dumesnil: Having fun by competing to win with the people I love.
Who were your favorite players growing up?
Dumesnil: Mia Hamm—she redefined women's soccer, and always played with such tenacity and confidence but still remained so humble.
Can you talk about some of the experiences that have been opened up to you through the sport and how have they changed your life?
Dumesnil: I went to Costa Rica for a service trip and wasn't able to communicate with the locals but was able to connect with them through the love of soccer.
