Hance Undefeated After Day One Of Kansas Invitational

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kenadi Hance was undefeated as Washington women's tennis saw mixed results during the first day of the Kansas Invitational on Friday.
Hance, a junior, went undefeated on the day, winning two doubles matches and one singles match. The Huskies went a combined 3-3 in doubles and 2-4 in singles.
In doubles, Hance and Lana Slavica won both of their matches, one victory coming in an upset against No. 58 Tour and Alexandrova from Maryland.
Stacey Fung and Alexis Prokopuik teamed up to split their matches, both by a score of 6-4. Rounding out the team are Miki Kobayashi and Vanessa Wong who lost their two doubles matchups.
Washington competed against players from Kansas in the first singles round. Hance and Prokopuik won their matches. Hance came back from being down one set to the Jayhawks' Janet Koch, winning two in a row to take the match, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Prokopuik won her match in two, 6-2, 6-0.
No. 18 Stacey Fung took on No. 35 Anastasia Rychagova in an intense three-set match. After Fung won the first set, 6-4, Rychagova won the next two, 6-4, 6-3. Wong also lost her match in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Slavica and Angela Li lost their singles matches in two sets.
