January 23, 2017 | Men's Golf
TUCSON, Ariz. -- After the first day of play, the University of Washington men's golf team stands in third place in the 17-team Arizona Intercollegiate field at the par-71 Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
"The conditions are extremely tough with high winds on a very challenging course," said head coach Alan Murray. "I'm really proud of how our guys fought and battled. Their attitudes have been first-class and we played a lot of really good golf today despite not playing in any competitive golf for a while. Everyone had a mistake here or there but in these conditions and with a little competitive rust, it is understandable. They're playing with a lot of heart."
