Former Huskies Travis Feeney and Dwayne Washington were both selected by NFL teams Saturday on the final day of the 2016 draft. Feeney was picked by the Steelers in the sixth round while Washington went to Detroit in the seventh.
Feeney, an outside linebacker from Richmond, Calif., was a four-year letterman at Washington, playing in a total of 52 games. In 2015, he led the UW with 17.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks, ranking him third in the Pac-12 in both. He was also tied for the Pac-12 lead with three forced fumbles.
Feeney, who was drafted by the Oakland As in the 2011 Major League Baseball draft (but didn't sign), was named the UW's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2015 and Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2014. He was second-team All-Pac-12 last fall.
Washington, a running back from Lakewood, Calif., came to the UW as a wide receiver, but switched to running back prior to the 2013 season. In 2014, he was named the team's Most Outstanding Offensive player when 697 yards and nine TDs while catching 15 passes for 91 yards. He was limited to just nine games in 2015 due to injury.
Known for his speed, Washington scored six touchdowns of 50 yards or more for the Huskies.
