Huskies Fall to No. 26 Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. – No. 61 Washington fell to No. 26 Arizona State 4-1 this afternoon at the Whiteman Tennis Center.
In doubles action the Sun Devils quickly took control on courts two and three. Kassidy Jump and Sammi Hampton defeated Elianne Douglas-Miron and Kenadi Hance 6-1 on court three for their 14th consecutive doubles victory. On court two, Desirae Krawczyk and Stephanie Vlad defeated Stacey Fung and Tami Grende 6-2, which prevented the matchup between the No. 28 duo of Nour Abbes and Miki Kobayashi and the No. 22 duo of Ebony Panoho and Alex Osborne from finishing on court one. Abbes and Kobayashi were up 4-3 at the time.
The Huskies found themselves in a 0-3 hole after Vlad defeated Grende 1-6, 2-6 on court four and Hampton took down Kenadi Hance 1-6, 1-6 on court five. Fung got the Huskies on the board with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over No. 66 Jump on court two.
Panoho sealed the deal for Arizona State, defeating Douglas-Miron 1-6, 3-6 on court three to bring the final score to 4-1. Abbes led No. 24 Krawczyk 7-5, 4-3 on court one and Sophia Bott and Gussie O'Sullivan were battling it out on court six but both matches were called off.
