
Plum Named Second Team All-America By ESPNW

BRISTOL, Conn. -- Washington guard Kelsey Plum was named an All-American by ESPNW on Friday. Plum was named to the five-player second team after her sensational season that will lead the Dawgs back to the NCAA Tournament.
ESPNW chose three five-player All-America Teams with Plum being with the second five on the Second Team. She is currently third in the nation in scoring at 26.2 points per game, a mark that if it holds up will be a Pac-12 record.
Breanna Stewart of Connecticut was named the ESPNW Player of the Year and was joined on their All-America First Team by teammate Moriah Jefferson, along with Rachel Banham of Minnesota, Kelsey Mitchell of Ohio State and A'ja Wlson on South Carolina.
Plum headlined the Second Team and was joined by Nina Davis of Baylor, Morgan Tuck of UConn, Briann Turner of Notre Dame and Jamie Weisner of Oregon State.
The Third team had a third Pac-12 player that was honored in Jillian Alleyne of Oregon, along with Myisha Hines-Allen of Louisville, Tiffany Mitchell of South Carolina, Aerial Powers of Michigan State and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough of Maryland.
Plum has been named a finalist or to the watch list of just about every major award this season, but ESPNW was the first to officially name her an All-American.
Washington's all-time leading scorer and the Dawgs are now awaiting their fate in the NCAA Tournament with the Selection Show set for 4 p.m. on Monday on ESPN. The Dawgs are currently projected as a No. 7 seed, but will leard their seed and first-round opponent on Monday.
