No. 62 Huskies Earn 4-1 Road Win at Utah

SALT LAKE CITY – Senior Jeff Hawke earned a three-set come-from-behind win to clinch UW's 4-1 victory at Utah Friday afternoon, giving the No. 62 Huskies their first road win of the season and moving their record to 11-9 overall and 1-4 in Pac-12 action.
The Dawgs swept the doubles point earning wins on courts one and three and were leading on court two when play was stopped. The duo of Emmett Egger and Hawke opened the day as they picked up a 6-4 win at number one doubles over Matt Cowley and Cedric Willems while Jake Douglas and Wendell Watanabe clinched the point with a 6-4 win on court three.
Washington extended its lead to 2-0 after freshman Jake Douglas, playing on court one for the fourth time this season where he owns a perfect record, earned a swift 6-1, 6-4 victory over Willems to move his season record to 20-4. His 20 wins are the most by a UW player this year and his four losses tie for the fewest.
After Utah earned a point on court two with a win over Gal Hakak, Washington responded with Emmett Egger's 6-4, 6-3 victory on court three and Hawke's clinching come-from-behind win on court five. Hawke dropped the first set 7-5 but rebounded with a 6-4 win in set two and a convincing 6-1 decision in set three to give the Huskies their 11th win of the season.
The Dawgs stay on the road as they next face Arizona on Sunday, April 12 at Noon.
