
Brahs, Kufeld Named To CoSida Academic All-District Team

SEATTLE - UW seniors Allyson Brahs and Megan Kufeld were each named to the 2015 Academic All-District First Team for District 8, as announced by CoSIDA.
Brahs, a defender from Newport Beach, Calif., holds a 3.86 GA as a biology major. She has started every game this season for the Huskies and has been an integral part of the UW back line that has recorded six shutouts.
Kufeld, the Huskies' starting goalkeeper and one of three team captains, has a 3.97 GPA and is also a biology major. She is from Fremont, Calif. Kufeld has recorded five shutouts as she has started 16 of UW's 17 games in 2015. She is the Huskies' all-time leader in career shutouts with 21.
Both Kufeld and Brahs were named to the Academic All-District 8 Team in 2014 and have accumilated a number of academic accolades during their collegiate careers.
As honorees on the All-District 8 First Team, Brahs and Kufeld are now eligible to be named to the CoSIDA Acadmic All-America Teams. They will be on the ballot for the first-, second- and third-teams that will be selected in November.
The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight regions across the U.S. and Canada. This is the fifth year CoSIDA has used this format in an effort to multiply the number of student athletes honored each year.
