Clark, Rowland Return To Omaha With Huskies

OMAHA, Neb. - No. 21 Washington is looking to make history in Omaha, Neb., on Sunday as the Huskies face No. 8 and 12th-seeded Creighton at 3 p.m. PT in the NCAA Second Round.
The Huskies have never won two-straight NCAA Tournament games and are searching for their 10th postseason win in school history.
It will be a tough task against a tough Bluejays team that has only lost once at Morrison Stadium in the NCAA Tournament. Washington is 13-4-3 and advanced to the second round with a 1-0 win vs. Air Force in Seattle on Thursday. Creighton earned a first-round bye as a top 16 seed with a 15-3-2 record.
Both teams have impressive streaks entering the match. Washington has lost just once in its past 12 matches and Creighton has won 11-straight.
In his second season at Washington, head coach Jamie Clark spent one year at Creighton prior to heading to Seattle. Assistant coach Jeff Rowland was also on that staff leading the Bluejays to the NCAA Second Round in 2010.
Washington is 2-5-0 all-time against Creighton and winless in Omaha. These two teams met once in the NCAA Tournament in 2006 in the First Round in Seattle. The Huskies won 3-0. Washington is winless at Creighton. The first meeting between the two was in 2000 in Omaha. They last met in 2009 and the Bluejays won 1-0 in Seattle. Senior transfer Patrick Pacheco lost to Clark and Rowland at New Mexico in Omaha his sophomore year in the NCAA Tournament.
The winner of this match will face the winner of the No. 1, fifth-seeded Akron - Michigan match in the NCAA Third Round on Sunday, Nov. 25.
