
Huskies Miss Chances, Fall To BU 1-0

SEATTLE - Despite outshooting the Terriers 16-6, the Husky women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Boston U on Friday night during the Husky/Nike Invitational on an unfortunate own goal. UW falls to 0-3-1 on the season.
"We had one miscue on a clear and it ends up in the goal and we outshot them but we missed our chances," said head coach Lesle Gallimore. "This was our best game of the season and the outcome was just unfortunate."
Boston's goal was an own goal in the 47th minute.
UW had plenty of opportunities as senior Alex Webber (Poway, Calif.) took five shots and one that nearly went in. Fellow seniors Sarah Martinez (Des Moines, Wash.) and Kate Deines (Issaquah, Wash.) also had great attempts on goal throughout the game.
Sophomore Lindsay Elston (Sammamish, Wash.) took four shots of her own.
Senior Jorde LaFontaine-Kussmann (Lakewood, Wash.) played all 90 minutes in goal, making one save.
In game one of the Husky/Nike Invitational, Seattle U upset No. 8 Portland 2-0.
