SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- UW freshman Jennifer Yang is tied for first amongst individuals and the Huskies moved up to fourth in the team standings after 36 holes of the 30th Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational being played at Sahalee Country Club.
The top four teams are all within two strokes of each other setting up for an exciting final 18 holes on Wednesday.
"There's four teams in contention," Husky Head Coach Mary Lou Mulflur said about the top-heavy leaderboard . "That's good. There are some good teams here."
Washington entered Tuesday's second round in fifth place but fired the day's best round of 294 to move up the leaderboard. Colorado and California lead at +19 overall, followed by Oregon at +20 and the Huskies at +21.
Oregon State is fifth (+35), followed by San Jose State (+40), Idaho (+44), Gonzaga (+45), UNLV (+47), Nebraska (+54), BYU (+55) and Washington State (+61).

In a continuing early-season trend, Washington was led by their freshmen.
Yang shot the round's low score, carding a 2-under 70. Yang went 1-under on both the front and back, totaling four birdies and two bogeys. She is tied for the tournament lead with Oregon's Cassy Isagawa.
"You can rely on her every time," Mulflur said about Yang. "She is right down the middle and it's just a matter of how many putts she makes.
"She played really solid today."
Yang was not the only Husky freshman to shine in Tuesday's round that was absent of any noticeable rain. Cyd Okino was second among Huskies with an even-par 72 on the day. She moved up to 11th on the leaderboard at +7 after starting the day tied for 33rd.
The Huskies third freshman in the lineup, Soo Bin Kim, shot 76 and is tied for 17th at +8 overall.
"Having those three freshmen come in and pick up the older kids when they have a little tougher day," said Mulflur, "it's good to know that you've got that there."
Sophomore Kelli Bowers shot 76 to move to +9 overall and is tied for 22nd. Senior Sadena Parks is tied for 29th at +11.
The Huskies also have three individuals competing. Brittany Tallman leads the trio at +12 and is tied for 34th. Jennifer Liedes is +15 and Darcie Richmond is +20.
Wednesday's tee times start at 8:00 a.m. The Huskies are paired with Oregon State and San Jose State and will begin teeing off at 8:09 a.m. on the No. 1 tee.
