Opening comment:
"We are taking it one game at a time. That is the way things go when you play in the Pac-10. You have to get a key hit and play good defense and have good pitching. Like I told the kids, you have to take it one game at a time and fight our way back."
On Washington pitcher Danielle Lawrie and getting key hits to win the game:
"She is a tough one and she had her off-speed pitch going. We took some good swings, although we didn't have much to show for it. In a game like that, what I always go back to is you have to have good pitching and defense and then you have to get a timely hit. We got a timely hit, and that is what these games are going to be about."
ARIZONA SOPHOMORE FIRST BASEMAN SAM BANISTER
On her double that drove in the game-winning runs:
"I hit a hard curve ball. I was looking to put the ball in play. I was just trying to make them work."
ARIZONA SENIOR SHORTSTOP KRISTIE FOX
On the collision at second with Washington's Ashley Charters trying to steal:
"It was a bang-bang play. She came in hard and she got caught up a little bit. It probably didn't show everything that happened on TV - there was a lot more going on. I apologized and I wasn't going out there to hurt her. It was a bang-bang play because I went in hard and she went in hard."
WASHINGTON HEAD COACH Heather Tarr
Opening comment:
"As I look at the game and reflect on it, it couldn't have been a more even game. Unfortunately, they struck first. They got the big hit at the right time. Obviously, it could have gone in our favor, too. Tough game. Danielle (Lawrie) threw a great game and kept us in it. We just didn't get the timely hit like they did."
On whether fatigue is a concern for this evening's rematch against Arizona:
"I think our approach against Arizona offensively just needs to be to make an adjustment and put the ball in play when we have runners on. The fatigue isn't much of a factor. It's more mental than physical right now."

On giving up the two-out, two-run double to Sam Banister in the sixth:
"I left it. She hit a pitch that I left and that's what every hitter tries to do."
