WASHINGTON
HEAD COACH JUNE DAUGHTERY
General Comments: "We are back on track into the conference race. We are playing beter and we are understanding what we have to do defensively as a team. In the second half we settled down and got back into our offensive scheme we looked pretty good sharing that basketball. We are excited, we are going to keep improving and getting better for the second half of the Pac-10 season."
On meeting expectations coming into the season: "It's tough to talk about because of all the adversities that we've gone through. We were thinking that we were going to get Schelly and O'Neill back and that didn't happen and then taking a kid off the red-shirt. We are making improvements and we know we have a ways to go, but we're looking forward to the challenge of the second half of the season."
On first half compared to second: "I thought that we were playing in slow motion and we were caught standing defensivley and gave up way too many easy shots. I thought our back-side rotation in the second half was huge. We can't just give up the easy ones inside and it gave us an opportunity to get into paint. It was second half, getting down defensivley and getting the help side in place and make Wassu run something else."
On Cameo Hicks: "Cameo had her start, because the last game and a half she really played aggressive. She got us a lot of looks inside and she is a big kid and long at 5'11". She's getting better at getting down with the basketball and reading the sets that Andrea is running off the top. She is doing a better job of reading where we want to get people the basketball."
On Hicks and Cheri Craddock: "They are both great kids to work with. They are extremely athletic and they are trying to find their way through this Pac-10 expericence. Cheir is starting to play more minutes and I think that they both have to continue to learn the system of offensive and defensive. That is a lot to ask, but they are doing it. They also have to play harder and more physical at this level. I want to see them both on the glass more. They are improving everyday and they work real hard."

On team's confidence: "I think that our team's confidence has gone up. We were a little down after some early Pac-10 losses, but we didn't lose our confidence. Now it just keeps getting higher, especially when we keep winning games. I think that we are playing a lot harder and that helps are confidence."
GUARD Cheri Craddock
On double pump on her layups: "I'm not nervous anymore. I was nervous against Arizona State, but now I'm more confident and I enjoy playing in front of the home crowd. I have been double pump layins ever since I was in ninth grade. Sometimes I go so fast that I shoot it too hard, so it helps me slow down and make the layin."
