Washington Head Coach June Daugherty
General comments:
"I am extremely disappointed to lose this game. At
times we battled hard, but we just couldn't get it done."
"My team has been world class champions all year long. To come and compete and improve in a first- class manner has been wonderful."
"This team gave us more than we could ever imagine."
On Sarah Keeler's ACL injury:
"They (UW-Green Bay) played very
very well. It would have been nice to rotate her (Keeler) in like we
have all year. I thought they (Emily Autrey and Andrea Lalum) picked
up the slack with Keeler out. Wisconsin-Green Bay played very well."
On Washington's defense and offense:
"I thought we were solid on
defense and did a decent job on their front line. One of our problems
was that we didn't do a good job getting to the line during the
first half; it was just a little too late."
On Washington's seniors:
"This is a great group of five and they
are leaving an unbelievable legacy. They worked really hard in the off
season and every year they have improved. They are remarkable student
athletes as well. They played well as a team and the leadership they
have brought to the team is unbelievable.
Washington Guard Giuliana Mendiola "It was tough, we got some runs going. They kept fighting and they out played us tonight."
"I thought (Elizabeth) Dudley was especially good defensively. We had a little trouble offensively and we needed to pick up defensively."
Washington Forward Kellie (O'neil) Dalan On her last game: "I'm sad, I didn't want it to be my last game. I went out and played with everything I had. I'm disappointed it is over."
On UW-Green Bay: "They worked the ball around real well and they just played hard. They are a great team."
"It was tough mentally getting through this year. Getting to the tournament is a huge accomplishment. Personally, with what happened this year, we have all become stronger because of it."
