Washington continued its winning streak to 5-0 this season with the win over Notre Dame. Notre Dame fell to 3-4. The series between Notre Dame and Washington is now tied 1-1. Notre Dame won the first meeting between the two schools, 80-67, on Dec. 2, 1995 on a neutral court at the Kona Tournament. This was head coach June Daugherty's first time facing the Fighting Irish at UW.
With this win, June Daugherty has a career 250 wins. Daugherty is now 127-86 at Washington. Her overall career record stands at 250-160.
Washington is undefeated in its first five games of the season, marking the first time since 1997-98 that the Huskies posted a 5-0 opening mark.
Freshman Cameo Hicks had a career high 24 points and 8 rebounds. This was her career first double-digit scoring game.
Senior Andrea Lalum had the first double-double game for a UW player this season, scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. This was her 9th career double-double game.
Andrea Lalum improved to 1,067 career points and is currently the 19th player in all-time history to reach 1,000 points.
Senior Giuliana Mendiola scored 27 points, improving her all-time scoring to 1,374 points, remaining 10th on the all-time UW scoring list.
Giuliana Mendiola improved to a season best 8 rebounds in a game.
Washington is now 5-0 when they outrebound an opponent this season. Washington outrebounded Notre Dame 43-33.
The 85-74 win was Washington smallest margin of victory this season.
This afternoon's game had a season high attendance of 5,526.
