The Huskies extended their home-winning streak to 18 games with their win over Denver tonight. Washington's win-streak began with last season's home opening win over St. Bonaventure, Nov. 29, 2002 (105-48). The 18-game win streak is the fourth longest in school history.
Washington is now 6-1 this season. Head coach June Daugherty improved her record at Washington to 128-87. Her overall career head coaching record stands at 251-161.
This was the first meeting between Washington and Denver.
The 31-point win over Denver is the Huskies largest margin of victory this season.
Freshman Jill Bell has a career high 16 rebounds tonight. This was the most rebounds by a Husky this season.
Senior Gioconda Mendiola had a career high 13 points and a season high 5 rebounds.
Freshman Maggie O'Hara had a season high 7 points tonight.
Freshman Breanne Watson has a season high 12 points tonight, the most points by a freshman this season.
Senior Andrea Lalum lead the night with 14 points, the fourth time this season she has been the team's leading scorer.
Senior Giuliana Mendiola remains 10th on Washington's all-time scoring list with a total of 1,404 points. She had 11 points tonight.
