
Sumantri Ousted From First Round Of The ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Washington tennis player Dea Sumantri met defeat in the first round of singles competition at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., today.
Sumantri, ranked 19th nationally, was ousted from the first round of the 32-player singles main draw with a three-set loss to 15th-ranked Luana Magnani from USC. Sumantri won the first set 7-6(7), before Magnani came back to win the next two by identical scores of 6-2, 6-2.
The rest of the Husky women's tennis squad will be in Boston, Mass., this weekend for the Harvard Fall Invitational, held Sat., Oct. 11, through Mon., Oct. 13.
