
Volleyball Stays Perfect With Three-Game Win Over Drake

SEATTLE - The University of Washington volleyball team posted its second straight three-game victory as junior Lisa Underhill's (Vista, Calif.) 15 kills led the Huskies past the Drake University Bulldogs Saturday 15-10, 15-3, 15-11 at the Comcast Lobo Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. With the win, the Huskies improved to 2-0, while the Bulldogs fell to 0-3.
Offensively, Underhill hit over .400 in her second straight match, recording her 15 kills on 30 swings with only one error for a .467 hitting percentage. Junior Allison Richardson (Hemet, Calif.) tallied her first double-double of the year with 13 kills and a team game-high 10 digs. Senior Emily Seacat (Ridgefield, Wash.) also reached double-digits in kills for the second straight match, recording 12 kills on 28 attempts. Other notables included sophomore Paige Benjamin's (Redmond, Wash.) game-high six blocks and setter/opposite Gretchen Maurer's (San Clemente, Calif.) 27 assists.
Drake was led by Stacie Kocourek, who had a double-double of her own, including 11 kills and 13 digs in the two schools' first ever meeting.
The Huskies conclude tournament action later Saturday night versus host New Mexico at 7 p.m. MT.
