SEATTLE - Jennifer Spediacci pitched a no-hitter and struck out 13 batters to lead Washington to a 6-0 win over Western Illinois in the NCAA No. 1 Regional tournament, handing head coach Teresa Wilson her 600th career victory on Friday at Husky Softball Stadium. Rosie Leutzinger's 4-for-4 performance paced the Huskies offensively.

The no-hitter was Spediacci's fourth of her career and her second in postseason play. She walked two and hit one to spoil the perfect game.

Earlier in the day, Chattanooga defeated Army in a 6-4 thriller in nine innings. Army and Western Illinois have been eliminated from the tournament. Washington, having tied the program record for wins with a 59-7 record, will face Mississippi State on Saturday at 10 a.m. Chattanooga will follow against Utah at 12:30 p.m., and the loser of the 10 a.m. contest will take on the winner of the second game at 3 p.m. That winner and the winner of the first game advance to Sunday's final.

Washington, playing as the visitor, collected 14 hits, its most since a 14-hitter against San Diego State on Mar. 23. Leutzinger led off with a single to start the game and stole second. Kim DePaul sacrificed her to third and Jenny Topping's sacrifice fly to left field brought Leutzinger home.

Leutzinger doubled to begin the third but was thrown out at the plate in a close call on Kelly Hauxhurst's single. But Topping singled and Jaime Clark knocked her 21st homer of the season to give UW a 4-0 lead. In the sixth frame, Melissa Downs put a ball over the left field fence for her fifth dinger and her second in three games. Singles by DePaul and Spediacci helped score DePaul for Washington's final run.
