SEATTLE -- Kelly Hauxhurst homered and singled to drive in the first two runs of the game and led No. 1 Washington over No. 22 Mississippi State, 4-1, on Saturday at the NCAA No. 1 Regional in front of 1685 fans. UW improves to 60-7 to break the program record for wins in a season and will face play in the championship game on Sunday at 1 p.m. A second game, if necessary, will begin at 3:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs put a rare score on the board against the Huskies, using two singles and a sacrifice to push Michelle Gates across in the second inning. It was just the second run scored against Washington in postseason play since the 1997 season, and visitors have scored on the Dawgs in just eight of the past 133 innings. But Jamie Graves would allow just one hit thereafter to pick up the complete game win and improve to 26-3, striking out three.

The Huskies, meanwhile, got two hits in the first three innings before Hauxhurst blasted her second career home run--both have come this season--to lead off the fourth frame and tie up the score. Leutzinger tripled in the fifth before Hauxhurst's second single of the outing scored the game-winning run.

The Dawgs belted two back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning off two different pitchers. Jenny Topping's 24th and Jaime Clark's 22nd brings UW's dinger total of the year to 82. It marked the fourth time of the year the Huskies have hit back-to-back homers and the eighth time UW has knocked two in one inning.
