AUSTIN, Texas - Senior Jamie Graves struck out 10 Tigers and allowed just two hits, and the Huskies scored three runs in the sixth and another in the seventh, to post a 4-1 win over Louisiana State and win the Texas Invitational title on Sunday. But the game was much closer than the score indicates.

LSU (9-1), which handed UW its only defeat of the season on Friday, jumped out early again. Dee Douglas led off with a triple down the right field line, and Tara Asbill's fly to center sacrificed Douglas home. But after that, Graves faced just two over the minimum, both in the final frame, to shut down the Tigers.

Meanwhile, however, LSU's Ashlee Lewis was doing her own number on the UW offense. The Huskies collected just three hits in the first five innings and got no one past second until the sixth frame. With one out, junior Jaime Clark was hit by a pitch before a sac fly by senior Melissa Downs on a full count evened the score. Graves then walked, and sophomore Shannon Walsh came through with a clutch single to left to score pinch runner Jessica Bork and Clark, putting UW up, 3-1.

Another run in the seventh came when DePaul singled, Topping reached first on an error and Clark doubled to the left center wall to help DePaul score her second run of the day.

UW improves to 13-1, and Graves remains undefeated in eight decisions.
