Volleyball Loses To No. 9 Wisconsin

NORMAL, Ill. - Despite 28 kills from Kristina Laffling and career highs from two others, the Washington volleyball lost, 3-1, to No. 9 Wisconsin Saturday afternoon. The game scores of the two-hour, 28-minute marathon were 15-17, 7-15, 15-12, 16-14.
The Huskies fell to 1-2 with the loss while Wisconsin improved to 3-1.
Laffling, a senior from Richmond, B.C., fell one kill short of her career high of 29. Sophomore Allison Richardson and junior Emily Seacat both had the highest kills outings of their careers with 21 and 14, respectively. All three players set career highs in digs, led by Laffling's 24.
Wisconsin had five players finish in double-digits, led by Jenny Maastricht's 19.
Washington actually had more kills, more digs and a better hitting percentage, but were done in by 18 service errors and only five aces while the Badgers made only nine errors and recorded 12 aces.
