
Volleyball Loses To No. 7 Stanford

SEATTLE - The Washington volleyball team began the 1999 Pac-10 schedule with a 3-0 loss to No. 7 Stanford Thursday night at the Pavilion Addition. Game scores were 15-5, 15-3, 15-10.
The Huskies fell to 4-5 (0-1 in the Pac-10) with the loss while Stanford improved to 4-1 and 1-0.
Washington was led by 16 kills from sophomore swing hitter Allison Richardson while Lisa Underhill chipped in with 11 more.
Stanford got 16 kills apiece from Sarah Clark and freshman star Logan Tom. Three-time All-American Kerri Walsh contributed 10 kills and a match-high six blocks. Stanford hit for an outstanding .406 percentage for the match.
Washington takes on unranked California Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Pavilion Addition.
