Volleyball Falls To No. 7 UCLA

LOS ANGELES - The No. 7-ranked UCLA volleyball team handed Washington a 3-0 loss Thursday night to extend its winning streak to 18 consecutive matches. Game scores were 15-3, 15-7, 15-5.
The Huskies fell to 8-12 overall and 4-8 in the Pac-10 Conference. UCLA improved to 20-1 overall and remained unbeaten at 12-0 in the league. The Bruins' lone loss of the year came at No. 3 Hawaii.
UCLA's Elisabeth Bachman was only kill short of a perfect evening, killing 15 balls in 16 attempts with no errors for a hitting percentage of .938. Kristee Porter added 12 kills and Ashley Bowles had 11 as the Bruins hit .468 as a team.
Washington was led by 10 kills from senior Kristina Laffling. Sophomore Allison Richardson also notched six kills, hit .333 and had a team-high nine digs.
The Huskies wrap up their two-match trip to Los Angeles Friday night against USC.
