Kaleigh Whitaker (formerly Nelson) served her first season in 2021 assisting the Beach Dawgs. A former letterwinner both indoors and on the beach for the Huskies, Whitaker went on to play professionally overseas indoors, and was a fixture in pro beach volleyball tournaments in the U.S. as well.
As a right side hitter for the Husky indoor team, Whitaker was a two-time AVCA Third Team All-American and two-time All-Pac-12 Team selection, helping the Huskies win the 2013 Pac-12 Championship and reach the 2013 Final Four. She then was part of the inaugural Husky Beach Volleyball Team in 2014 and played the No. 1 spot for the Huskies in 2014 and 2015.
The former Kaleigh Nelson, Whitaker married former Husky Beach Volleyball Head Coach Steve Whitaker. The two welcomed their first daughter, Peyton, in 2020.
