
Huskies Split at Stanford Invitational with Wins Over North Florida, Houston Christian

STANFORD – No. 18 Washington beach volleyball wrapped up its Los Stanford weekend winning against No. 16 North Florida, falling to No. 2 Stanford, winning against Houston Christian, and falling to No. 11 Long Beach State to move to 8-8 overall on the season.
Washington opened the weekend Friday at the Stanford Invitational against No. 16 North Florida, where the Huskies earned a 3–2 victory. Washington picked up points on courts three, four, and five, with Mayamay Brown and Ellis Hay securing a straight-set win on court four and Avery Towne and Alina Urzua following with another straight-set victory on court five. Ella Tyus and Sarah Wilcock clinched the dual on court three, battling back after dropping the first set to earn a three-set win.
Later that day, the Huskies faced No. 2 Stanford at Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium. The Cardinal earned straight-set victories across all five courts to secure the 5–0 dual and close out the first day of competition.
Washington returned to the sand Saturday morning against Houston Christian and delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the Huskies 5–0. Emma Hohenauer and Katarina Pantovic earned the win on court one, while Tyus and Wilcock secured a straight-set victory on court two. Hay and Mariana Tomasova added another point on court three, Towne and Urzua won on court four, and Zoria Heard and Sammy Hsu completed the sweep with a straight-set win on court five.
The Huskies closed the weekend against No. 11 Long Beach State. Towne and Urzua delivered Washington's lone point with a straight-set win on court five, but the Beach secured the dual with victories on the remaining courts.
