Husky All-American and Pac-12 Champion Hannah Rusnak served as an assistant coach from 2024-25, working with Associate Head Coach Toby Stevenson to train the Husky jumpers, vaulters, and multis.
Rusnak and Stevenson helped senior Jami Schlueter reach his first NCAA Indoor Championship in the heptathlon in 2025, earning Second Team All-America honors, as well as taking the silver medal in the heptathlon at the 2025 Big Ten Indoor Championships.
The UW jumps crew had a remarkable season in 2024. In the multis, Bruno Comin Pescador finished fifth at NCAA Indoors in the heptathlon, the best finish ever by a Husky, and outdoors, Jami Schlueter took 10th in the decathlon at NCAA Outdoors and was Pac-12 runner-up. In the horizontal jumps, Prestin Artis had a breakout year that took him to the Olympic Trials. He was fifth at NCAA Indoors with his first 26-foot jump, and he then won the first Pac-12 title in the men's long jump since 2008. Freshman Trevontay Smith was third in the triple jump at Pac-12s and senior Kunle Akinlosotu was fourth, while senior Lauren Heggen broke her triple jump PR, took fifth at Pac-12s, and made her first West Prelims. The pole vault crew lit up the recordbooks, with five First Team All-America honors, a women's Pac-12 podium sweep, and an NCAA Indoor Championship for freshman Hana Moll.
During her standout Husky career from 2018-22, Rusnak set the UW School Records in the heptathlon and pentathlon, and won the 2019 Pac-12 heptathlon title, the first by a Husky since 1992. She had a best NCAA finish of ninth at the 2019 outdoor championships, earning Second Team All-America honors. Rusnak was ranked 6th nationally in the pentathlon in 2020 heading into NCAA Indoors when the pandemic caused the cancelation of the meet. She ended her career with a heptathlon PR of 5,779 points and a pentathlon best of 4,190 points.
